I’m so excited to be participating in the Breaking Ground Blog Tour 2019 hosted by mahlicadesigns. This year over 25 bloggers from around the world are joining together to break new ground by trying a pattern designer that is new to them, try new techniques, new styles, or whatever way they want to push themselves. (Read on for Giveaway info)
I have a lot of sewing plans for this year that will really expand my horizons and there’s a lot of ground to (hopefully!!) break. I’ve been sewing for several years but there’s still so much I haven’t done and an infinite amount of techniques to learn.
I had planned on making the Harriet Bra from Cloth Habit to go with a pair of Ohhh Lulu Ultimate Lace Panties but I haven’t had time to work on my toile. One cup is in place in the cradle but I have to finish the second and then check the fit before cutting into my good fabric. I bought a fantastic bra kit from Tailor Made and included the panties add on.
I’m really looking forward to how it turns out! I properly sized myself several years ago so my RTW bras are fairly comfortable but a lot of people in the blogosphere have mentioned how much better their sewn bras are. I hope my Harriet Bra is just as wonderful!
I did make the panties though! And they’re super cute! I’m so thrilled with how they turned out. Next time I’ll try to match the scalloped edges better though.
I’m lazy and only have light threads in my serger so I had to finish the inside seams of these panties with an overlock foot on my regular machine.
The Full Tour includes all these creatives. We hope you’ll visit us each day:
