Just Some Frogs on a Log

I am SEW excited (just ask the people who were near me in the produce department when I read the email!) about this opportunity to be an ambassador for the new Prints Charming line from Michael Miller Fabrics that begins shipping out on October 15. Full upfront disclosure: I received this free sneak peak of fabric from Michael Miller Fabrics in conjunction with Sewing Portfolios. It’s an amazing site to showcase your sewing skills and get in touch with pattern and fabric designers.

The half yard challenge was a bit difficult, mostly because I had sew many ideas but only three half yard pieces.

IMG_2594Ultimately I decided on a stuffed frog on a lily pad and a frog suspender skirt. There wouldn’t have been enough fabric for larger sizes with longer skirts, but there was juuuuuuust enough for a 2t.

IMG_2570A frog isn’t actually one of the options for the AniMazing Suspender Skirt but I improvised with the mouse ears and black iron on vinyl circles to make the frog eyes. 🐸

One half yard piece wasn’t actually enough to cut the skirt pieces according to the pattern but I think the skirt is still gathered and full enough to allow mobility.

IMG_2593The frog is made with a frog print and the lily pad is made with a lily pad print. How cool is that?! They were both quick self drafted patterns.

IMG_20171006_123814Look at this All About Me sheet Sweet Pea brought home from church school. Apparently she doesn’t have a favorite game, but she does love her new frog. And who knew toddlers love cookies?? πŸͺ

IMG_2581And one more picture of Sweet Pea looking at her toes because she’s sick of me taking pictures and is ready for me to let her toss rocks into the water and get a little messy. πŸ˜„

I have some more leftovers from this Prints Charming collection so I still have my eye some more scrap busting projects.

Happy Sewing!!
