I’ve been a slacker despite my resolution to be a more active sewist and blogger this year. If it weren’t for the deadlines from testing patterns, I would rarely sew and almost never write a blog post. Hopefully I’ll get better about that! I have so many things I want to do and share.
Last summer I bought these super cute teal shorts from Target and my daughter loved them. I knew I wanted to get around to making some similar shorts for this coming spring/summer and the new Juniper Jeggings from Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop was the perfect pattern to use.
The pattern calls for a lot of top stitching with a twin needle to really get a professional looking finish. It can seem daunting but if you go slowly and adjust the tension a little higher, you should wind up with something that is really stunning.
I also used a decorative stitch on top of the pockets to add a bit of that madewithlove touch. For now my daughter loves when she gets “fabric clothes” from Mommy and asks for them all the time.
I used some french terry from Joann’s to make these shorts. They’re absolutely fabulous for playing at the park.
They’re an important part of the perfect outfit for splashing rocks into the creek.
I used stretch twill for these capris to add a bit of springtime sophistication.
